Introduction to wheel-throwing
All it takes is a flick of the wrist to bring a form to life...

A gentle first approach to wheel-throwing
Take a moment just for yourself, and let yourself be guided through the first gestures of wheel-throwing in a calm, light-filled, and inspiring ceramics studio in Paris.
This 2.5-hour introductory session is designed to offer you a gentle and accessible experience, with no prior experience required.
Whether you're simply curious, looking for a creative moment, or drawn to the material itself, this class is a beautiful way to begin your journey into the world of pottery.
What you’ll experience during this class
During this 2.5-hour discovery session, I offer you a gentle, step-by-step immersion into the world of wheel-throwing:
– A welcome moment, to ask your questions and settle into the studio atmosphere
– An introduction to ceramics: its history, uses, different types of clay, and the steps of making
– A step-by-step demonstration of the essential throwing techniques (centering, lifting the clay, shaping)
– Hands-on practice: everyone takes their place behind a wheel to create their first pieces
– A quick clean-up of the wheels once the session is over
– A selection moment: at the end of the session, you’ll choose up to three pieces that I will fire and glaze for you
Each gesture is guided with care, and everyone progresses at their own pace.
It’s not about performance, but about the experience of making, the wonder of seeing the material transform beneath your hands.
With only 4 participants, I can offer personal guidance in an atmosphere that’s both focused and warm.
