3 Christmas Pottery Team-Building Ideas to Enjoy with Your Colleagues

Christmas pottery team-building workshops allow colleagues to connect in a different way: around the wheel, the clay and the gesture. Everyone leaves with emotion and a handmade piece. Here are three festive, playful and heartwarming formats to enjoy together, even for beginners.

1. “Christmas Decorations” Workshop: personalised hanging ornaments

In this workshop, each participant shapes a stoneware ornament. We play with textures, fingerprints and seasonal stamps (trees, stars…) and add decoration using sponge or brush. The atmosphere is joyful: it’s playful, slightly competitive and full of creativity.

At the end, everyone receives their own unique keepsake (fired later in my studio and delivered once finished). This small object can be displayed at the office, at home… and carry the memory of the shared moment.

2. “Festive Warm Cup” Workshop: hand-building and togetherness

Nothing warms the heart like gathering to create a cup, mug or small bowl, just like sharing hot chocolate or a Christmas tea. Participants either hand-build or wheel-throw their piece, personalise the form and add texture or a small message.

We move away from mass-produced objects: the piece is organic, personal, warm, just like the spirit of Christmas. After firing, each person receives their finished, usable cup: a meaningful and useful souvenir.

3. “Collective Artwork” Workshop: one piece created together

A more collaborative format: the team creates a large shared ceramic piece. Each participant shapes one fragment or component, before everything is assembled, glazed and fired.

This is a highly bonding Christmas pottery team-building experience: the final piece becomes the symbol of the group and the moment shared. It can later be displayed in the office or communal space and serve as a reminder of the experience all year long.
